Arizona native Kainos Catherine Harmon graced the small town of Mesa, Arizona with her presence on the first day of summer in 1986. June 21st was a magical day for her family, particularly her mother, with whom Kainos has always been close. Kainos was brought up in a conservative Christian atmosphere and attended a private school for 10 years. She participated in the choir at this school and, once the culture shock wore off, joined her public high school’s Honor Choir as well. Even through college and beyond, Kainos remains musically charged. Some people breathe, Kainos sings.
Once the structure and balance of organized musical groups ended with graduation, Kainos discovered a whole separate world dedicated to practicing and sharing musical talents- fan dubbing on Youtube. She created an account and within a manner of a few short weeks, people from all over the world were wanting to sing with her. She made several fan dubs both solo and duet, and eventually moved on to doing covers. Within a few short months, she had some serious record producers begging her to sing for them.
When Kainos isn’t singing in her simplified yet highly effective home studio, she is out with her friends- and is still singing. Best friend, Mandei Ellsworth says this about Kainos: “Her range of genres is positively stunning. I can hum something I heard from a Disney channel cartoon in 1997, and suddenly Kainos will start singing it, word for word. Speaking of knowing songs word for word, you are not allowed to drive in the car with Kainos on any roadtrip if you don’t like the Backstreet Boys…”
Besides loving pop music and anything Disney related, Kainos has recently completed some work on a few R&B songs with several signed artists. Since becoming more and more popular via myspace music and Youtube, Kainos has begun working with Gene Ortega, an LA producer with the label, C.H.E.F. Music. She is currently in the process of creating original songs for her upcoming debut album.
